Theatrical Portraits

Before tickets are sold, seats are filled, houselights go down and the curtain opens—posters, print ads and posts in social media need to be created. There is no show at this point. No rehearsals have been called. The show is just an idea in the head of a creative director or show runner or promoter or any number of people with the energy and imagination to conceive of an entertainment event.
It is my job to listen to the ideas, still hand gestures and tall tails and help make an image that will endure and hold an audience's attention until the seats are full, the lights go down and those ideas become reality.
Of all the photography I do this is the most difficult and the most rewarding.
